My name is Linda DeLeon. I am an electrical engineer major. I come from a big family, that is I think it is big. Most of
my friends have only one sister or one brother. I had four brothers and one sister. One of my younger brothers passed on years
ago, but I still consider my family pretty big. I was the only one that quit high school. My parents knew how important school
was and I just thought that being out of school and having a job was better. I learned too quickly that having an education
is one of the most important things in life in order to get ahead in life. Now all I can do is preach to my neices and
nefews about the mistake I made in quitting high school.
Being an engineer has always been a dream of mine. My older brothers always wanted to be engineers but never did get the chance
to go to college. It turns out my younger brother ended up being a mechanical engineer before I ever even enrolled at TAMUK.
My best friend and now roommate is the one that convinced me to come back to school and persue my dream. I will never know
how to repay her now that I know the advantages I will have after graduating this comming year.
